A Wake Up Call
We all can use a wake up call in life. Some of us might say we do not need it; however, one question might change your opinion. Here’s the question: If you could do life over again would you do more? Yes, me too.
Last month, I was faced with the possibility of cancer. Just the very thought was enough for me to look at my life and examine what I wanted to change. Would you do anything different? Would you step up in your career and make a bigger difference? Would you mend broken relationships? Would you travel to your dream destination and create unforgettable memories? Would you draw closer to God?
After experiencing what seemed like endless tests and one surgery my enthusiasm for life has grown exponentially! I am on fire. Regardless of the diagnosis, I was ready to run to the finish line so that I’ll hear well done good and faithful servant. I was overjoyed to hear that my biopsies were benign!
Here are 3 tips I want to share with you:
Tip #1: Don’t wait for a health scare to wake you up
We can get comfortable in life thinking things are going well and we get in a habit of not reaching for the stars. We go day to day not pushing ourselves to be the best we can be. Our purpose in life can become indifferent as challenges and daily life hover over us. I invite you to take a moment to reignite the passion you have in your purpose. Realign yourself with what sets your soul on fire and on what creates meaning for you. When your life is over you’ll know you made a difference in life and lived it to the fullest.
Tip #2: Explore what is holding your back
There are seasons in life where we are not as fruitful as we could be. Ask yourself what is holding me back from living my purpose? What do I need to do to step up? What is blocking me from achieving my potential? Once you receive your answers it will guide you in the direction of prosperity. Sometimes we need help from someone to help us access our answers. If that is the case, seek help in getting your freedom back to live the life you know you can
Tip #3: Live life on purpose
Are you letting life happen to you or are you living life on purpose? I have learned that life rewards those in action. If you are working on an outcome go out and take steps to make it happen. Ask for what you need, pray for what seems out of your control, and speak your dreams out loud. There are people who will join you in your purpose and help you manifest it. Choose to keep moving forward taking action that will move you one step closer to finish line. Have your motto be: My life and my purpose are not for sale!
Conclusion:
Life is precious! As the clock ticks, the minutes turn into weeks, turn into months, turn into years and time slips away. Let me be your wake up call. Don’t wait til you have a medical condition to examine your life and the direction that it is going. Remove what is stopping you from your purpose and live life to your best ability so that when your time is over you leave a legacy to follow.
